\nKodo Nishimura is a Buddhist monk from a long line of Japanese monks. He is also an LGBTQIA activist and internationally renowned make-up artist. He spends his life between a monastery in Tokyo and the world's fashion shows. One day he wears traditional monk's robes and the next glittering high heels. He is proud of his Buddhist roots, his sexuality and his passion for fashion and make-up. But it wasn't always like this. Nishimura hid his true self from his teachers and friends for many years. It was only when he moved to New York in his mid-20s, where the LGBTQIA community was larger and more open, that he took off his mask and became happy.
\nBack in Japan, he begins his monk training and inspires many people in various media.
